Smart/smart casual shirt advice please, lads and lasses.

I've just been invited out tomorrow night, with a dress code smart, although 'smart' jeans (no fade etc) can be worn. Not usually my style, I have a decent pair of trousers but no smart jeans, and not much shirts-wise - or rather I just want something new for tomorrow.

So, where can I go for a decent shirt, please? Any advice on colours, stripes etc?

Cheers in advance

I don't particularly want to be splashing out £75 on a shirt, which I'd have to at somewhere like Ted Baker, but if it was a really special shirt then I might go that far.

I'm thinking of something like this, or this at the moment, either on jeans or a pair of trousers.

Just get a nice one from Asda/Tesco/M&S for £15ish

And as long as it's not short sleeved, you should look fine.

I really prefer the first of those 2.

same here swfc, I'd need a jacket to go with the red I think, whereas stripes can carry themselves so to speak. That shirt will be checked out tomorrow methinks.
