to be honest group stages in all competitions suck. All European competitions should be straight knock out. Only the champions should qualify for the European Cup and They should bring back the Cup Winners Cup.

Cup competitions are so much more exciting when its straight knock out to the final

Well, 'only the champions' clearly a thing of the past. Dont mind the first group stage that much but there arent generally that many surprises. Would prefer it go straight back to knock out but with that being the main cash cow obviously not gonna happen.

If the UEFA Cup group stage went i wouldnt mind seeing the Cup Winners Cup again

Could be tricky but if we can sure up our poor defence this season then we should be able to make it through with the top 3 going through.

i assume it works like the Champions League where the teams who go through top get a better seeding into the next round

I'd say Everton have the easiest draw from the England clubs.

IIRC, teams that win the group play a 3rd place side in another group and the teams that finish 2nd play a side dropping out of the Champions League.

Not sure whether it's better finishing 2nd or 3rd tbh if you dont win the group

You're probably being flippant but could even be worth a punt. The year Galatasary beat Arsenal in the final i believe they came 3rd in their CL group. A mate of mine had money of them to win the UEFA Cup from when the CL draw was made.
