So she went around all the local shops in a huff trying to make change and found out she couldn't.
Needless to say she was a rich southerner
| I've had to break £50 notes before. ****ing hassle. Happens when you get pounds in a foreign country.

obviously kept loads of cash in £50's rather than use the bank

Whenever anyone tried to pay with a £50 note when I worked in a shop I had to get a manager over, purely because I've seen so few I don't know if they are real or forgeries.

| short answer is they're a hassle as they reduce the available change within a till

yeah we used to have to get a supervisor if someone paid with a £50, happened quite often though. Only seen a £100 note once I think, but they only have them in Scotland iirc.

Why? </BLOCKQUOTE>
to be a ****?
( prob. due to a float in the till needing to be between two amounts and if change was given it would fall below that ammount and to be able to give the change would take it over the top end amount which is put in place as it is the minimum acceptable loss if it were robbed) </BLOCKQUOTE>
Well i have no idea how your freakin system works.
In Romania they give you change even if you buy gum with a 500ron bill (which is around 180 euro).
