Politics at primary would be awesome

. Just basically how the teacher is essentially jack of all trades and master of none. Unless I've missed a spectacular change in primary teaching since I was there, the one teacher is responsible for all the subjects their class is taught. I don't want to only have 1/8th? of my time teaching History.
It's got to do with the level though also - that impacted my decision not teach secondary either. I did two weeks in a secondary over the summer of 2006, and had a fair few chats with the teachers there. The general consensus was that there comes a certain point when you're basically lying to the kids, you have to water down things so much. My experiences kinda backed that up too

.
FE is still not exactly advanced, but there's still an obviously higher level of competency amongst the students and it's only the 16-18 age group, no Yr 7-9 likes. I like to shoot the **** with my students and have a good discussion, in both History and Politics...
Obviously this is why I'm gunning for the University level as the end game though - further level of weeding out due to the choice of going to uni, and then choosing that degree, then that speific course and general increased competency again.
There's still the apathetic buggers, but each time they're being whittled down
