Erm, Ayr isn't a city. And it may not have made much of a contribution to British culture (if there is such a thing), but its contribution to Scottish culture is significant. </BLOCKQUOTE>

I think it does. The nations in Britain are similar to each other and yet distinct from the nations in continental Europe. Without going into way too much detail I think that in itself suggests a culture that is unique to Great Britain, but isn't definably English, Scots or Welsh. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Perhaps, but I feel there is a clear distinction between the Celtic culture of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, northern france, etc. and the anglo cultural tradition.
