I bought a bike last Friday from a local company at the freshers fair, as did 2 of my friends who bought the same bike. Already all 3 of us have had problems with the bikes, my pedal snapped off on thursday and the other two have similar problems and one with the gears.
Its under guarantee for a year, but i dont want to have to be taking it in for repairs every week. I have also discovered that this particular shop has a reputation for selling shoddy bikes, something which i wish id been told last week!!
My understanding of the consumer rights is that if a good is not fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality then i am entitled to a refund, something which the shop is denying.
Can anyone help me with the best line of attack in order to get a refund?
if fault within first week or so, then legally you havent accepted the goods, and if they become faulty, you can reject and request a full refund nder the sale of goods act, stop using goods, and put in writing with recorded delivery letter making time of the essence for a full refund.
