I hate it when **** like that happens, I have BT Broadband and sometimes it just completely disconnects and it comes up CONNECTED! again and sometimes it stays the same for about an hour, then all of a sudden its connection has gone when it says it nots and the strength is excellent and I have to wait about an hour for it to say it has disconnected and connect back again!

How much difference would the router make because with sky you don`t get a great one, i think it`s 54 mbps which i`ve been told is pretty bad. Is it worth buying a better one and if so which one?

I`ve got 2mb and mine probably goes to 1mb, whether that`s true or not i don`t know but if i was paying out an extra £10 a month, i would find out if my area supports 8 or 16mb first.
| Either it was along while back or that internet "expert" was talking g0nads. I'm getting 13MB quite comfortably. I'm 550 metres from the exchange.
The speed you're getting down to your PC is not just dependent on your router or ADSL speed. Try optimizing your PC TCP settings using TCPOtimizer NOTE: I think this only works with Windows XP, so bad luck all you Vista users! |

whoa, just used that TCPOptimiser, speedtest.net reckoned I was managing about 2600kpbs download before using it. over 7800kbps afterwards. that's pretty mental isn't it?
does that also mean I'm on 16MB now?
