Anyone know how long it takes Sky Broadband to be activated after making the initial call to order it?

wankers
| yeah but if you were on the 2mb package you'd onkly get 500kbps or so. Because you'd be using adsl1 rather than adsl2

I've had Sky BB for a year and it's been a model of reliability.
If you keep dropping the connection it could be your wireless network card driver rather than the router.
Are you using Vista? Is it a Dell? Do all PCs in the house have the same problem?
Maybe you'll get a better answer at the Sky User Forums |

They tell me I can't have the normal (cheap/"free") Sky BB where I live, does anyone know if they have any plans to extend the areas where it is available?

I believe they are rollout out to 100% of the LLU exchanges (which is most exchanges in the uk). God knows when and their rollout plans are a closely guarded secret.
Its a right pain the bum, living in the back of beyind im gonna be the last person to benefit from 16MB internet for next to nowt |

| Apparently they are extending them all the time, but I suppose it would depend how far outside an 'available' area you are.
I know we tried to get it earlier this summer in the house I have just moved out of, and they basically said that half the street can have it and half of it can't - so they were expecting to have it available fairly soon after we signed up. Around 1-3 months iirc. No idea if that actually happened though - may have just been a way of sweet-talking us into the more expensive £17.99 broadband.
