What would happen if everything in life were free and we could live forever?

Where would the motivation be for the vast majority of people tom discover stuff? If they knew they could live forever they'd just put stuff off.

we'd need some way of keeping the masses in check, otherwise the world would overpopulate in about three generations.

i propose forming a real life speedball 2 league.

If we lived for ever, we would build massive spaceships and head off to explore the Universe. Perhaps a portion of people would always remain on earth but a lot would head off for the new adventure, after all we live forever so even if it takes thousands of years to get anywhere at least it's something to do, walking round and round the corridors of the Enterprise.......

People can live in space in self-sufficient space craft. Kind of like Battlestar Galactica.

I think terraforming other planets is the way to go though.
