Carphone Warehouse do it on Orange at the same price, other networks cost more though. Another idea might be to pick up the handset at the cheapest price, get it unlocked if it needs it, and grab a sim for her network.

Basic requirements, don't need a fancy phone, so any old crap will do. :p Then spend the rest of the money on something else.

Get on the same network as your g/f coz you're after cheapness, so you will pay less for calls.

Everyone tipping the K800i should be tipping the thinner, slightly updated K810i which has been a out for a couple of months (and which itself is soon to be replaced by the very snazzy looking K850i with 5mp camara).
