Petition the Prime Minister to Hold a general election in 2007
Afternoon all,
I dont normally post these types of things but here is something I feel quite strongly about and I think that I'm not alone here.
If you are unhappy with how the country is being run, don't think you cant make a difference by ignoring this, stand up and be counted.
If you feel the same way, please take 2 minutes of your time and click the link below and sign the petition for the PM to call a general election in 2008. This petition has been lodged on the Downing Street website and only recently the PM joked in his question time that only 26 people had signed it, now there are over 10,000 in just a few days.
You know what, despite the polling, the economic forecasts, the decades spent in politics and all the other factors that would have come into play last week I have to agree that it's almost certainly only the power of an internet petition that will get GB to change his mind.
I mean, who can't resist an online petition?

It's not going to happen until late 2008 at the earliest now.
It is one of the few real perks of being PM is that you can choose when to go to the polls.

In that he would've have lost if he'd called it now.
Tbf it has been recognised across the political spectrum that he has messed up hugely with this call.
Not a great situation for a fledgling PM.
