If thats the reasoning the voters in this country use at the polls he did right not to call an early election.
No, during the honeymoon period he was getting a lot of undeservedly good press, particularly over Northern Rock. For instance, the whole thing with them waiting until banks had closed and 80 year olds had waited outside all day to decide to guarantee savings, having previously said theyw ouldn't. If that were to happen now, it would be just another example of him dithering. It's what happens from now on in that really matters.

Listen it's just the press messing with you so you buy their rags. They'd written Cameron off a few weeks ago and now he's reborn. They're laying into Brown this week and last week his recent handling of events was brilliant. Next week they'll flip it. It's all fun and games.

well said that man. we all know that had gb called the election and won, the tories would have brought out the same lines that they did after the last election. they'd cry and go on about how labour were worried about how the public would feel about them when their term came to an end and so called an early election to escape the full wrath of the people. they'd try to capitalise on the situation to the best of their current capabilities and, just as last time, I suspect the vast majority of the nation would see right through them

would also like to congratulate docker for being so hilariously entertaining in this thread
