Tipping is bullshit if you live in a country which pays people in the service industry a living wage. If not then it kind of makes sense, but what would make more sense is a minimum wage that people can survive on.
The only person I tip is my hairdresser, because it's underpriced there and he's a great hairdresser.

it makes perfect sense tbh. think of my twattitude as a positive number, and their twattitude as a negative number. obviously, the more of a twat either of us are, the larger the number. add them up, and the higher the result the more likely i am to tip.

10% and round up to a whole pound for table service. Usually give cabbies a quid for a 'cup of tea'.
Will throw some spare change in the tip jar for my favourite baristas in regular coffee hangouts.
I know one guy who tips EVERYONE shop staff, even a checkout chick once. He even tips his stewardess 5% of his airfare. But he is an ostentatious investment banker who likes throwing his money around. I don't actually like him that much, he's a bit of a twat.

basically a far harder and more in depth job than any bar job short of cocktail mixing, but the idea of giving a tip would never enter a customer's mind, and nor would i have expected one.
| indeed but as many companies don't allow it, its not thought of
once a workmate of mine was offered a fiver for really helping this old guy out but she had to actively refuse it due to the boss being over her shoulder (wouldn't have took it like,as she knows its her job and part of it is helping people) which offended the guy

| yeah because it then leads to people giving preferential treatment to some customers over others. (indeed what tips where originally designed for).

Exceptional-20-25%
good 10-15%
bad-**** all
but by bad i mean they're like a robot devoid of personality not the wrong meal etc. or dire food

I don't tip unless they do something more than they already get paid for tbh. Never tipped a taxi driver because they charge too much anyway.
If there's a big group of us, say 10 or more, then I tip my share of the bill because it's a pain in the arse dealing with big groups.
