never tip bar staff unless i'm ordering cocktails, usually tip waiting staff but usually less than 10% unless it's they've put up with some serious **** from me and put up with it well.
don't really see why i should tip bar staff for 'good service' when serving drinks is possibly the easiest customer service job there is.

nope, unless the service has been exceptional.
whs, why should i pay them extra for doing the job they are meant to do </BLOCKQUOTE>
Exactly you dont tip a bus driver for driving you to work so ehy tip a waiter for just doing his job they get feck all off me unless they are female and show me plenty of cleavage
it is pretty arbitrary as to which customer service professions expect tips. when i worked in a music shop i'd spend far longer, on average, with a customer than bar staff would. i'd need to know a hell of a lot more in terms of product knowledge, i'd need to know my way round a shop really quickly, i'd need to know release dates of loads of different albums / games / books / dvds, i'd need to know which other releases the customer might be interested in, i'd need to know about which different formats things were available in and why.
basically a far harder and more in depth job than any bar job short of cocktail mixing, but the idea of giving a tip would never enter a customer's mind, and nor would i have expected one.
