I think the idea of the restrictions would be to encourage the development of making those unnatural choices into ones they'd be only too happy to make. I don't think many teams would struggle to find 5 out of 18 players that could do a job on the day of the match, particularly if there's a requirement for some kind of youth development on the bench.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'd rather see the limitations being larger but set at the squad level. It just gives the managers more scope to deal with injuries etc and should mean players being picked more on merit than nationality.

Someone should really point out to him that football is not exempt from EU law.

The rule simply breaches restraint of trade and freedom of movement laws.

He can challenge all he wants to be honest its bedrock of EU policy and isnt likely going to be changed or amended any way for football. They didnt exempt football in the Bosman case and they arent gonna do it now.

Footballers are workers too Blatter you twonk, they are paid reguarly for the work they do. They arent artists they dont sell their performances to the club after the match for the highest fee they can (sounds like an idea though )

Bloody cretin

Do you think attendences will drop if they do bring in a limit to the amount of foreign players playing at one time?
I remember when a limit of foreign players existed in the early 90s where Man Utd were stuffed by Barcelona with Cantanoa and Schemicheal on the bench and our national team failed to qualify for the finals so can't see how bringing a limit of foreign players is a good thing.
