I'd rather win the league whilst playing entertaining football than both of those options, like United did last year and Arsenal are doing this year. Don't enjoy watching overly defensive teams at all.

Naturally option 1 is the obvious answer out of them 2 though, but it's nice to have at least a few home grown players in there.

my point was this, i would much see my team produce (or buy and develop) players that are capable of improving and taking the national team forward than have a team made of foreigners that are supporting another countries national team.

I am a England fan first, club side second.

So how much do you think Gordon was actually worth?

I'm an England fan first and a club fan second, but what you're saying is idiotic. sorry.

win it, far more intrested in how my club do than the national side

Most so called English good youth players aren't good enough to win major trophies or let the media spotlight get to their heads at don't act at all professional (look at the 3 England under 19 players sent home as they broke curfew, so un professional), the likes of Glenn Johnson won't win you premiership titles at the end of the day either

If you are an England fan first, how can you justify supporting a side and putting money into a team that doesn't promote the national team?

(note im not having a go, im just trying to let you see my ideals. )
