the second one, because then none of the players would dive, or crowd round the ref, or behave badly off the pitch, and fish and chips would give me change from sixpence

I'd probably be better if you banned the Premier League teams from playing English lads then they'd have to play in other leagues and actually evolve their game.

I'd quite happily take 2nd and all English lads,
2nd is promotion anyway & English lads command a premium in the transfer market so club would make a fortune flogging em on in pre season.

Would choose option one, but it's pretty dumb to accuse this guy of being racist, or pandering to racism, in raising this. There's plenty of non-racist reasons why you'd choose option two, and in the worst instance it's more likely to be staunch nationalism/patriotism which, whilst I disagree with it, isn't racism.

For a lower league club mainly the transfer premium that British players cost when selling on. Obviously wouldn't be same for a premiership club as they make loads on tv deals and stuff.
