Ming Campbell is just to decent a man for politics.
As far as a replacement goes, the Lib Dems need someone from the left of the party, rather than Nick Clegg. Simon Hughes has failed twice, Oaten is tarred, Lembit is insane.

Good chance I won't be voting Lib Dem at the next election though, not that it'll matter where I live, but I'd like to be able to vote without having to vote Labour.
Teather won't win, surprised if she stands actually. Clegg is the early favourite, Huhne will be there or ther abouts and I'd throw in David Laws as an outsider.
Persoanlly I'd like Hughes to get it but I think he's in the position Ken Clark found himself in with the Tories - he's stood and lost too often to be really credible and his personal business has done him no favours.
If the vote was tonight, Clegg would win by a good margin.
I voted for Huhne as my MP, not convinced he's party leader material though. The fact that he came second last time around is more a sign of the lack of potential leaders in the party than his own leadership qualities.
