I recently spent a couple of weeks travelling around Europe, one of the places I visited was Monaco, where I had my first experience of big casino's. I particapted in my first game of blackjack/21's and I doubled my money in a short space of time. A good night was had by all.
Now that I'm back, I've been itching for more blackjack. I bet on the football a bit so I opened a Paddy Power casino account to accompany my normal account. I've been playing blackjack, on my own, for small stakes at a time, a fiver here and there, and I'm making a little bit.
The temptation is there to start betting large amounts. It's a very real temptation.
Question, does anyone regulate these online casino's? How do I know they aren't fixed or whatever? Can anyoen recommend an easy to pick game like blackjack that I could try also?
Id be careful with online casino's. They're made so they you win a little, often. This way you think you're doing better than you actually are, and become addicted to the winning feeling.
I bet a little now and again on them, but realise how addictive they're so dont use them alot
Just don't do it. You don't have an edge, you've just been lucky. And that luck will run out. Credit to you for picking the game where the house has the smallest edge, but it still does have one. If you want to gamble, learn poker.
I'm fairly certain the online casinos are regulated and the games have to be fair. The odds alone make sure that the casino wins in the long run.
Besides, an online casino is dependant on it's reputation, if there's even a whiff that the games are dodgy they'll lose customers increadibly quickly. Due to the nature of online gambling, it's so easy for their customers to switch to another casino, whereas unless you live in Las Vegas or Monaco, it's not as easy to travel to another casino to play, online it's very simple.
if you have the money, then imo, the best way to do it is to keep on doubling your stake, until you win and then start again, can start at whatever amount you like, but obviously the stakes get quite large quite quick.

quite large, quite quick. great advice from the poorhouse.
Serp, what would your advice be to a poker rookie? The advice from Pros is you can only get better playing games, but I'm thinking that to jump in and start playing online as an inexperienced newcomer would be like ****ing one's money away. I imagine seasoned players, such as in the poker thread, go into each game thinking they have a chance of winning.
