They will treat you like a moron btw. I bet they get a lot of people who have simple clashes ringing up and asking what happened.
So expect the "have you got series link programmes you might have forgotten about?" type question.
I am going to try recording a couple of programmes today while I am in the house and see what happens.
The problem is they will just tell me to turn it off, leave it two minutes and turn it back on.
I could be that you box is only receiving one signal from the dish and they came up as clashed because you were watching another channel.
You can check the services and see that you're getting good signal strength on both signals.
Just manually start recording one channel and switch to another for 10 minutes. Then see if you can watch the recorded show.
My last Sky+ box had that problem and I got a replacement.
I suspect that the call centre will just talk you through the housekeeping process where you effectively wipe the hard drive and lose all your stored programs.
my box seems to have lost 10% of its capacity even after deleting programs it went down to 3% but now has risen again meant that dispite having about 30% free raw cut out
Got Sky+ yesterday and there was a problem with some channels. Turned out the engineer hadn't paired the card to the box properly. Called them up about 21:30, got through almost straight away and it was fixed in time for Heroes on BBC three.
Obviously yours isn't the same problem, but I'm just saying, they're not as bad as some companies (I'm trying not to rant about BT in this thread..).

Were you watching the channel you were recording?
Have you checked the services page that spankie was on about to see if both signals are coming through?
No lad, wasn't watching the channel. Checked both signals and they are fine.
Interesting thing happens when I start recording the channel I am watching. When I try to change channel, it keeps the sound from the channel I am recording and doesn't display the channel I have switched to. Just comes up with 'there is a technical fault with this channel', I can only go back to the channel I am recording.
