I would say the primary way of defining whether someone should be grouped as working/middle/upper -class is where they were educated. Obviously lots of other factors are involved, but for me education is probably the most important.

Yep, that very much sounds middle-class. Or even rich working-class.
These defenitions all so silly and pointless though.

Neither ffs.
Upper class = aristocracy. You're born into it, it's a tiny class.
The people this thread is talking about are most likely upper middle class. </BLOCKQUOTE>given the lack of an aristocracy in American society, my definition diverges.

Some people are saying it means education..
I go to a dump of a School, did any one watch Ant & Dec last night? Mr Byrne is my head teacher. I am in all the top classes and got 2 awards last year, History and 10+ Praise from teachers and just missing out on Maths.

it can't be education. If a working class person goes to Oxbridge it doesn't automatically make them upper class. It can make them upper middle class but thats the limit. In britain the upper class is just the aristocracy.

sorry guv, you're describing comfortable middle-class American life here.
| He said they were getting the lot as a christmas present, which seems a tad over what is usually considered a nice present, but yeah, it's not uncountable amounts either.
Apart from that:
considerably wealthy = upper class?

I'm not saying it means anything, I'm just wondering what ''class'' you would put me in.. in my opinion nobody has a class, you just have your own personality.
