Should be brought back, but in a safe manner and German football has shown that it can be done on a large scale. I'm not so sure whether the government/authorities will ever give it the green light here though, sadly.
stood at every away this season and most homes

Stood on the terrace behing the goal at a top flight game back in the early 90s. As a young teenager didn't feel particularly threatened. Admittedly it was for Oldham v Luton, so the crowd wasn't exactly heaving that day (though we did have a lot to cheer about in the end).

Can't see the status quo changing in the near future either though, which is a shame. Prefer to stand myself, despiute being a quieter fan. Have been able to so so at ten of the eleven grounds I've been to this season. Don't like the 11th as a result.

Used to stand and watch Newcastle in the Gallowgate when I was younger.

Only cost £3.50 as well. Remember playing Tranmere and they closed the turnstiles and we went to try and buy seated tickets and I resented having to pay £7 for a football match.

Was better in the old days etc.

Doing his job and stopping you standing is being a ****? Fair play.

I don't like sitting, but that's the rule.

And thinking you should have a choice is fine, but you have to accept that you don't.

Nope can't remember standing in the top flight - didn't Fulham have standing when they were first in the prem though ?

That said as a lower league fan i've stood on terraces christ knows how many times and the atmosphere is so much better it's untrue.

The Rotherham ground has only been all seater since July 04 and in those 3 years the atmosphere in the Tivoli (the home end behind the goal) has been completely massacred, no buzz at all really at games, 5 minutes of half hearted chanting at kick off, couple of minutes after we score and a couple of chants after opposition scores but rest of time it's like a football graveyard.

Previous to that even when we were down in the bottom leagues matchday atmosphere on the Tivoli was awesome, was the match atmosphere that kept me wanting to go back, now it's out of habit i go to home games more than anything.

I remember it at Newcastle. Used to have standing at the Gallowgate and in the Milburn paddocks in our first season after promotion.

Was going before then mind, but you did ask about top-flight football.
