also question for folk with lovefilm, if i watch West wing disc 1 and send it back will they then send disc 2, or will it be a random choice again

Depends what they've got in at the time. They won't send you disc 3 before they've sent you disc 2 though. Would send you something else on your list if Disc 2 isn't in.

i find that once they have started sending you a series they nearly always continue with it, rather than giving you other films\series in the middle.
