might be worth checking if your landlord has paid the guy his deposit back, most wont till they get proof all final bills are covered. maybe he will take it out of the deposit.

might also be worth seeing if you can continue with virgin but pay it off quarterly or something, depends on your finances.

Both good ideas. I think the main thing is that Virgin want their money AND they want you to remain a customer, so they'll probably be open to any compromise where they get both.
