Very prestigious documentary series about World War 2, narrated by Laurence Olivier no less. It's from the early 70s - so the talking heads are people who were involved in it, from all the major countries. It basically covers an aspect of the war, generally in chronological order, each episode. The Road to War is the first episode, then the actual start of war etc.

Basically the only decent ITV documentary ever. I don't even like WWII documentaries in general, but this one is so good it demands to be watched.

It's regularly shown on UKTV Gold. Definitely best to catch it from Episode one ofc.

I honestly don't think it'll ever be bettered.

Just keep checking Mondays on UKTV History... eventually in a few weeks it'll say "The Road to War" and it'll show each episode every weekday from then on.

I went to Belsen when I was a child. It's one of those cliched things, but it is eerily quiet. Amongst the individual family graves are mounds that have nothing more than a number on them to indicate how many people are buried there.
