What if he/she is still KO and wakes up at the hospital a day after the crash (let's assume everyone was on some weird drug that doesn't affect you long term but puts you to sleep for a couple of days) and everyone tells him/her that he/she was on the plane and is the only survivor?
No guilt factor this way.

are we presuming that everyone else in the family are paralized and can't save themselves?
iu'd help the ones that can't save themselves and expect the others to make it out themselves.
