I remember there being a thread about this a while back, but this topic has been on my mind recently. Working in a call center, I get calls from all over the US and Canada, and some accents are much more pleasant than others.

I don't know what it is about the Canadian accent, but they just don't seem to ever sound angry even when they try to. It is easily one of my favorite accents along with Russian.

So do you have a strong regional accent, and which accents do you prefer and/or dislike?

No. I'm all RP, me.

Living near Birmingham now, and the Brummie accent above all others is the one that grates & infers complete tardularity.

Scouse is just high-pitched and immediately implies a thieving See You Next Tuesday.

Proper Midlands accent.

As in I can't speak properly, miss letters off anywhere I can, use duck and love in every other sentence. Speak super fast and mumble a lot so that only other Midlanders can understand.

Btw not so sure if it is a Midlands thing after writing all that, may just be a South Derbyshire thing.

As for accents I like, German women talking English is fb.

Thanks. It certainly isn't a great job, but at least I make decent enough money for the work that I do.

East Midlands accent is pretty inoffensive tbh
