Say NO to Australian Question Intonation. I have Stephen Fry's backing in this.

I speak Northumbrian which to the untrained ear sounds the same as geordie (Newcastle) - but the two are quite different.
I like the Scottish accent. Find Brummie to be a big :thdn: Always reminds me of Barry from Aufwiedeshen Pet. /o\ |

i don't mind brummie too much, black country accent is quite a bit different and much worse.

Mind saying that - some lasses up here do speak very rough geordie and even as a local, it's still a major :thdn: Very off-putting !

I have Carioca accent.
As for accents, when it comes to Portuguese langauge I like the Minas Gerais and the Rio Grande do Sul ones. Accents from São Paulo's countryside are pretty annoying sometimes.
When it comes to English, I like the accents from Texas, Southern US and to a lesser extent Ireland too.
| Carioca accent ifb, even though everybody outside Rio de Janeiro seems to loathe it. Must be some form of inferiority complex
As for Texan and Southern US accents, WTF? easily the most annoying US accents you could have picked. NY accents are fun, but not when overdone. </BLOCKQUOTE>
NY accent
New York Peurto Rican </BLOCKQUOTE>

| When I went to Canada - the locals guessed every Commonwealth country before England for my accent.
At a wedding in the States I was told my accent "doesn't sound English, it sounds South African". The guy was telling me like he was an authority on the matter.

Actually this girl I was talking to at lunch today guessed my accent as being a mix of Welsh and Aussie |
