I have a typical Essex or even Estuary accent, I probably sound a lot like Brian who won Big Brother apart from the stupidness which protrudes from his mouth.

I'm from the midlands but don't ever call anyone 'duck' or 'love' nor do I hear it. my accent is one of the more boring accents.

Cork accents on females  Can't be more specific than that as I've only ever been to two places in Cork. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Which parts of Cork? </BLOCKQUOTE>

The city of Cork, but only spent a day there, and a tiny place called Glengariff and the surrounding area that I've been to a few times for a week or two at a time

Isnt the Cork accent pretty much incomprehendable ? I remember being with some Irish guys some time back and meeting a Cork guy and they didnt even understand him.

Used to work with a guy from Plymouth once. I was like "Whaoh! What's this" ... proper farmer giles accent. Didnt even know that at the time

Ive been told I have quite a strong Yorkshire accent, sound a bit like Andy Sugden from Emmerdale apparantly.

Bland accents like the generic english/southern one are the worst. Usually just so nasal and boring. And it's usually these people who have the biggest beef with every other accent under the sun through some massive inferiority complex. A lilt or harshness to your voice rules.

I actually quite like the Stokie accent, just such an awesome mix of scouse and brummie.

You do realise that what you said there sounded like an inferiority complex don't you?

It's also not borne out by the evidence in this thread where people with regional accents do mention accents they don't like. So you're saying it's wrong for one group to not do it if you see what I mean.

I expect I have a brummie accent, having lived and grown up here for 20 years. I don't hear it though.

My favourite is broad Yorkshire. The worst would be a slightly posh southern accent, particularly when someone says "berse" and "perb" instead of bUs and pUb.
