How is this difficult to grasp? 11% are foreign, add another 5% for those born abroad and now British, 16%. Then those who's parents were born abroad, double that figure to 32%. Then take off about half that as immigration has doubled in the intervening generation. 24%. Add 1% because I'm a bigoted racist bastard, and you get 1 in 4.

Oh right - so it's based on assumptions and guesswork. No doubt it still represents cast iron proof and fact in your mind.

It isn't difficult to work out if you manipulate the figures... it's just hard to work out based on the statistics you presented as evidence.

What's the point of your being here? Are you just wanting to pick holes in my arguments, or have you a genuine interest in whether immigration has been beneficial or not?

From your first posts I took it you had an interest. If so why not find the more up to date figures and see what they say yourself? I'm busy still trying to get the labour force survey, you see?
