Though tbh even speaking the language doesn't help much. I got attacked in Malaga by two blokes with knives plus they had 2 accomplices in their getaway car. I rang the police after with a very distinctive description of one of them, plus that he'd be checking into hospital pretty soon. Also the make, model, colour and registration of the car. They told me nothing could be done without my making a written statement, and to walk to the station and make one. That's like a 20 minute walk, and I didn't much fancy those lads coming back for a second go. In the UK I'm fairly sure that a report like that would provoke a swift and effective response.
Can you not make written statements at your own address in Spain then?
The last thing I'd have wanted was the police round my house
But I lived 20 miles from the attack anyway.
Surely in the UK it'd be maximum effort to get them - there they are, you have descriptions, make, model, colour and registration of car - everything you want. Would the action be to wait for the person reporting the attack to make their way home or to the station before going out hunting?
