802.11b & 802.11g are the two standards which govern the frequency iirc. Tho I'll quote something interesting from Wiki Quote: |
802.11g. In June 2003, a third standard was ratified: 802.11g. This works in the 2.4 GHz band (like 802.11b) but operates at a maximum raw data rate of 54 Mbit/s, or about 24.7 Mbit/s net throughputs (like 802.11a). Despite its major acceptance, 802.11g suffers from the same interference as 802.11b in the already crowded 2.4 GHz range. Devices operating in this range include microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, and cordless telephones

Didn't answer the question though did I. Anyway my router at home runs in b/g mode which means it'll work with any device that uses the 802.11b or 802.11g standard. It may be worth just trying on or the other though it may mean some wireless devices you have wont' be able to connect to your network. I have to keep in b/g mode as the wifes PC uses b only.

Ahh ok, well it's worth a try. Otherwise, I'm going to have to be ebaying the wireless module.
