Tbf, I meant that it's pathetic to be unable to organise your finances such that you're short of a tenner to buy smokes. If it's just a case of not having cash on you at the time then no problem.

And if someone was broke and wanted a tenner to buy food then fine, but it's the idea that their priority at this time would be cigarettes that seems pathetic.

If I had the money to spare then probably yes, reluctantly. I don't like lending money for frivolous things though.
