I remember seeing the forecast and i am sure i remember it being replayed in one of those "that was the 80s" or whatever type shows and it was Fish

They arent running the clip on the show or are they not allowed as Fish was on BBC at the time (i think)?

The storm didn't head up to this part of the world, though I do remember watching the pictures on TV.

I would've been 16, nearly 17, and I slept through the whole thing. Only realised what had happened when my dad offered to give me a lift to school and there were trees down in the green in front of our house and another massive tree blocking the road on the route to school.

Was a windy and quite exciting morning...

i remember a really big storm where i got blown into the main road on the way home from school and nearly got run over, but i'm sure i was older than 5. hmm

As I was only four I've only got one memory and that was seeing a paper owl I'd made in school that day getting blown out of my hand and shooting off into the distance whilst walking home. It was that night the storm hit.

I was dead proud of that owl too

I rememeber another big storm in my first year juniors, i sat and watched the lamp post outside my classroom swinging about in the wind. Then we got sent home from school \o/
