You could try Fleet in Hampshire, pop. approx. 30000.

There must be plenty of towns around the West country that don't have teams.

Actually, Fleet Town FC had a very good run in the FC Cup this year, winning their way from the Extra Preliminary Round all the way through the Preliminary Round, First Round Qualifying, and Second Round Qualifying before finally sucumbing to Havant & Waterloo FC in the Third Round Qualifying.

I really do thank all of you for your input, but, before coming here, I spent more than a few hours poking around the GoogleMap of the United Kingdom, randomly picking towns off the map and running them by www.thefa.com, and their local web sites. I eventually decided, there might be a better way.

The Results section of thefa.com is truely a testament to the English fascination with the beautiful game. I'm not aware of it's equal anywwhere. There is probably an equivelant density of 6-inch softball pub-teams in the US, but that sport doesn't extend much above the pub level.

It's a shame given our enthusiasm, dedication and loyalty to football teams and the communities they serve, however small, that the national team cant (seemingly) qualify for the European Championships this summer

I didn't realise Fleet was that big, although the population may include Crookham and Church Crookham.

Anyway, Fleet Town were another side I used to play regularly when I was playing competitive football.

Surely Canterbury City is worth a call then, re-formed this year but still a way off getting entry into the FA Cup.
