Dewsbury, Castleford, Brighouse, Keighley.
Don't think these have teams and the pop must add up to 150,000

Having spent a couple hours poking about the web, I've decided my billionaire is to buy the Keighley and Craven Athletic Club and start a football team as well as continuing the Club's current calendar of holding quality foot races.
Unfortunately, the only address I can find for said club seems to be that of the gentleman who accepts club applications. It does seem, though that there is a healthy set of farmland near his home that could easily accomdate a football stadium (and parking) of significant size. Hebdon Road isn't a bad stadium name, either...

| Sure I heard somewhere they're the biggest in England without a football team.

Wakefield FC lost to West Auckland Town FC 0-1 in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup this year, in a replay after drawing 1-1 at home. Their side may not be prominant, but they are enough to be playing in the FA Cup, so that eliminated them from consideration.

I'd also be very surprised if this is true as they've had an upturn in fortunes lately. Also, if you look out your window you may see the floodlights as they're playing Billingham Synthonia in the Durham County Cup.
PS. They're just Peterlee Town these days. |
