When I was about 16 I was sat in the back seat of my parents car and got hit behind by a small lorry. Had crazy pain in my back and was awarded £1,500 (approx), still get a fair bit of pain around the area most affected 6 years on (not sure if caused by the impact or just normal wear and tear).

Tbh the adverts on these claims are made up. The woman with the exploding handbag who slips on the floor and gets about £6000 for it off the company, is totally ridiculous. There's no way you'd get that much.
My advice is to weigh up pros and cons in a list of claiming and not claiming and work out what's best for you.

Ive always thought i'd be too guilty to claim on something like this as i'd be unbelievably ****ed off if someone did the same to me - but because of this i probably would.

I'd probably claim. It's against my principles but the money would soften the blow.

Tbh this is the bit that would make my mind up personally, if your pain is minor, and the person responsible was very decent about what happened, I would be inclined to leave it be, although that might change were my financial situation even worse than normal, or I didnt have a shred of decency. </BLOCKQUOTE>
That's pretty much where I am with it. I even spoke to her on the phone last night and the poor woman is quite distraught over it.

Then I'd find it hard to take money off her without good reason.

Would it make any difference to her at all if you claim ?

Would have thought all that would happen is she'd lose her no claims bonus & insurance company pays you. But ofc as she's admitted liability for the accident she'll lose her no claims anyway.
