but there is no "dialogue" (wonderful nothingness of a word though it is), nothing ever gets achieved. the "qg" one last week had a half-decent guy who got shouted out by a fat bigoted moron and a few bores talking a lot but saying nothing.

the audience are never insightful in their questioning and they go and cheer on the catchphrase simpleton.

The people who go to Question Time and ask questions are either people who've contacted their local council about a blinking streetlight and want to have a go at the PM, or stuck up toffs who like to seem dead clever and smarmy and get their face on TV into the bargain.

I can't deny your description of it (although I would suggest that last week's audience was better than normal) and its need to be improved. Quite how, I'm unsure. Perhaps sending out a survey to prospective audience members about their views from which they could work out whether or not these people are complete half wits would improve it. In QT you have, at least, the bare bones of a very good and pretty important programme.
