I don't begrudge Jonathan Ross the money at all, I just think if the beeb are struggling to function as they are due to finances it sounds like a lot of money for one person.

| I suppose it's difficult for a non-commercial channel to work out how much to pay presenters. I would imagine that another channel was prepared to pay £17 odd million for Ross and they felt that he was enough of a drawn and a big enough talent to be worth them topping that. It's a tough one though.

the bbc should be making more scripted (non-soap) british shows. it's just incredible how few there are and what chance of quality when you have zero quantity?

The BBC is brilliant, but they keep doing stuff that ****es me off. BBC3 for example. Cutting the budgets for important things like Newsnight and the Today Program but paying Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton ludicrous figures. Two Pints...
It needs to remember what it's supposed to be, rather than chasing ratings at all costs.
