Barring United I've barely watched BBC1 in the last 7/8 years, can't say I'm fussed.

If I was in charge and planning to cut loads of jobs and still increase the license fee over the next few years I would stop commissioning shows like Celebrity Lawn Mowing and invest in more documentaries and new comedy. Add 10% to the budget of all radio and would stop showing endless repeats of 2 pints of chuffing lager. Thank you.
You're a moby. That's what YOU want but a lot of people don't care about. They're never going to appeal to everyone in the country so if there is always going to be some stuff that you like and some you don't. If enough people watch 'Celebrity Lawn Mowing', it's staying. Your issue is with the people that watch it.

£10m for Norton when you could get a hitman to take him out for a tenth of that is obscene.

Over the last 10yrs hasn't the BBC lost FA cup football, leagu cup football, darts, cricket, rugby, formula one and generally most things worth watching bar football home internationals?

This reality tv junk really gets on my tits aswell

That's why I started my post with "If I was in charge...."
I'm a moby; whatever that is.
So 16m watch Eastenders, but that means 44m don't yet they continue to make it.
Any chance we could get Celebrity Lawn Mowing commissioned?

They have about 5 mins of ads now promoting their own shoes in betwen programs. Its only the mid program breaks that differ now from itv </BLOCKQUOTE>

1. Mid program breaks are more irritating, especially as there are far more people watching individual programs than those watching 2 or more consecutive shows.
2. No way are they 5 minutes long.
3. Adverts for other TV shows are far more entertaining than your average home insurance ********.

I love the BBC tbh. Their current affairs coverage is excellent - Thursday nights are probably my favourite TV nights with Question Time and This Week, whilst you also get Newsnight, Sunday AM, Panorama and the Politics Show. There are often some other good shows on like Michael Palin's New Europe. I'd pay the license fee for 5live alone tbh.
