The sheer rudeness and selfishness of it makes me laugh. I think they're just trying to rebel and 'do what they want'. On a six hour flight though it would be taking it a bit far. The gf left her phone on on a flight from Milan to London and she had welcome messages from Switzerland and France when we landed.
