as encuoraged as any by the form foster showed at watford last season, and even given the quality of the alternatives, it's a bit premature to rank him as england's #2 innit?

Foster is the best English keeper atm even thought he is injured.

Foster>James>Green>Carson>Krikland> random keeper>*>>>>>Robinson

I think we need to see some consistency from Foster at the top level before we get excited. I seem to remember Kirkland getting talked up not so long ago whilst he was injured and had never had a season + run in the top flight.

I doubt Johnson would have been getting on anyway would he ? It's gotta be Crouch/Rooney for Estonia and Rooney/Owen for Russia no doubt with Crouch on the bench or vice versa depending on Owen's limbs in the build up but scored today

Owen might play both games tbh

he came off the bench for Newcastle just now, and he's got another full week of training before the Estonia match

I reckon he'll be rested for Estonia. No need to risk him. You'd hope Rooney and the likes of Crouch could take care of business. I think McClaren has even hinted as much that he may be rested for Estonia in readiness for Russia

Everton boss David Moyes said: "We have nursed AJ along, but now he will have surgery on Monday and will be out for four weeks."
I mean, jesus christ, does McClaren even talk to these managers? they surely can't have decided this afternoon to operate on him... what's the ****ing point of naming him in the squad on Friday?
