If you did enter a football ground and a jobsworth steward did want to confiscate your mobile phone then wouldn't you have to be issued with a receipt?

If your phone doesn't have a camera you'll be able to hold onto it surely. So if the camera doesn't work you should be able to hold onto it as well, creating a longer queue while the stewards inspect each individual phone.
