So you're telling me that if you are following the speed limit, yet the amber only comes into force when you're too close to stop, you should slam the brakes on and cause an accident? </BLOCKQUOTE>
If the amber comes on and you're following the speed limit you should stop if it is safe to do so.
If the red comes on the amber has clearly already passed, and you're speeding through the lights.
If you get caught going through a red, you're nicked. Very few potential mitigations.
