Do all traffic lights have cameras? I thought they were sensors on the top?

I may have "accidently" gone through a red light when i couldnt stop without slamming breaks on, never had any points put onto my license.

No not all of them, in fact not many of them - generally in busy areas and places where people notoriously run red lights.

yeah i got the speed limit and my speed wrong, it was a 40 limit and i was doing 29. And yeah i agree i should have / could have stopped, i made a mistake.

And now you're paying the price.

I've been waiting for a speeding ticket to come through as I was doing about 36-37mph in a 30 limit when a policeman aimed his speedgun at me. I keep getting lulled into a false sense of security but realise that there's been a postal strike, so I could still get the fine through the post.

As Retro said, that wasn't the argument at all. I've got 3 points on my licence from going through a red.

the point was not that he made a mistake, as anyone can, it was the argument that it somehow wasn't his fault. Which he's now agreed it was anyway.
