Any advice/experience would be appreciated.
Yes, just tell them that you had bald tyres and your brakes weren't working properly so you wouldn't of been able to stop before the white line so you decided to carry on, also tell them that you are also known to your mates as Terry Forkwit.

If your speed was such that you weren't able to stop at the traffic lights before they went to read, then it clearly wasn't safe.
The mere fact that you weren't speeding doesn't mean that you were driving legally and safely, only that you weren't breaking that one specific law.

I presume that is to me, another way of putting what I'd already put is to slow down and concentrate when approaching traffic lights especially if they've got a camera on them.
Sh*t happens, pay the fine and accept the 3 points, you learn from your mistakes, well if you don't you'll soon find yourself banned.

Whs. Most people would have noticed the change from green to amber and slowed enough to stop in time.
You deserve those points.

well ok, it felt safe at the time then, maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, hard to say after the event tbh. But at the time i felt that i was driving perfectly safely.
I don't have a problem with paying it ffs, allready stated that, i just wanted to know if they could tell how far i was from the lights when they changed to amber/red - wasn't looking for a discussion into how good my driving was tbh.
