All you need is a Scrotch Tape tutorial and a Grunge Brush.

Have a search for both of those and you're on your way.
The grunge brush is applied on a new layer using white.
The scotch tape is on its own layer and the blend mode is set to multiply or overlay. [righton]

After your search, feel free to ask any other questions, or if you have problems with the search.

Thanks hydrospell. [righton]

There's also a huge thread in the "Photoshop Resources" board here too. The thread is 'pinned' for easy access.

For great grunge textures and stock photos: http://resurgere.deviantart.com/gallery/
Great for making custom brushes too.

I like your avatar, hydrospell

Attached is a set of Actions created by one of the members here. Unfortunately, I don't recall their username. Perhaps The Keeper or another member will.

At any rate, the actions work very well for "aging" any of your photos.

If you want to add some blotches and specks of dirt, you can try the following:

1/ add a new layer
2/ colours black and white (fore and backgr)
3/ add noise on this layer
4/ GaussianBlur it a bit
5/ Levels: hold down alt then start dragging left and right untill in each case you see something appear. the histogram will be closed in now.
6/ Threshold for the pattern
7/ blend with your pic.

depending on the settings you get large blotches or or small specks
