Can't touch-type "properly", but I do my own, self-taught version. I look at the screen rather than the keys, but probably don't use the right fingers for the right keys, as you're supposed to do.
Dunno how many words per minute I can do, but I seem to go at a fair pace.

To cut a long story short, we're moving over to a new computer system at work and are having 5 hours of training to get used to it. 2 of those 5 hours inclde touch typing practise. They want us to firstly be able to touch type (which im not good at) but also acheive 30 words per minute and an accuracy of 98%
Now the 30wpm doesnt seem too bad, but the 98% accuracy ontop of that i was thinking ' '
Off to practise anyway but does that seem a little steep?
to be honest 30 words a min is not difficult. unless they have a set paragraph for you to type that is solely really really long words.
i can touch type and it's easy. unless youve got a program like mavis beacon the best thing to do is type the alphabet without looking at the keyboard.
once you learn where the keys are its easy.
