Default If a player makes a profesional foul in the box do you agree he should be sent off or is a yellow card and a penalty enough?

After the Everton V Liverpool and Aston Villa V Man Utd games I think it is harsh to send a player off for a profesional foul in the box.
I think a yellow card and the penalty is enough punishment.
I know people will say if you stop a goalscoring opportunity outside the box he will be sent off and should be the same inside the box but a penalty 90% of the time result in a goal where as not many free kicks are scored.

Depends if the player who was "fouled" dived or not, and had a "chat" with the "referee" or not.

Rules is rules, i don't think refs are hard enough as it is i.e. not giving second yellows for fouls that would warrant a yellow if they werent already booked for example.

I would have to argue that, with utd missing the penalty, they only gained real advantage by the man being sent off.

I think a pen is enough of a punishment

If they are last man then they should go. If not then a yellow is enough.

completely depends on the individual incidents. Some professional fouls for me would only warrant a yellow while others would warrant a red.

Not seen the incidents yet, but a professional foul is an intentional foul. If a player inentional fouls someone anyone on the pitch, he should be sent off

on the Villa/Mancs game, my first opinion was Carson deserved to go - but watching the replay, you see Osbourne is on the line and could possibly have stopped Tevez's shot if he had got past Carson

so I think a yellow would have sufficied, didn't see the Everton/Pool one
