It is.
what on earth do you mean by "highlighted" for example. Highlighted means that a text sample would be reversed imaged on screen enabling you to copy or overwrite the text.
That has no correlation to what you are even trying to describe.

In what context in what application in what universe are you talking about?
Is there anyway of opening an email attachment that isn't highlighted.
Re-read that and try and explain to me how that could make any sense to an It person trying to help you out.
Its like saying "Filler cap not extended" when your car has run out of petrol.
